“All the variety, all the charm, all the beauty of life is made up of light and shadow” – Leo Tolstoy

In the busy metropolis of Gurugram, a home was envisioned with defined lines and functional purpose that would do justice to the ephemeral, yet distinctly memorable, blend of light and shadow. Keeping with the practice of frugal architecture, there are pockets of space where the light hits the wall with just the right amount of intensity, illuminating it enough for one to find a reassuring calm. The home came to fruition as per the expectation of one who wanted to have it all to himself.

In this one-of-a-kind creation, the emphasis was to create a functional multi-level house for just one resident. The house, located in the Sushant Lok neighborhood of Gurugram, was envisioned as an abode for the lone resident, for whom each floor had to serve a different purpose. Because of this requirement, each function of the house has an accentuated and spacious element.
